iPhone X Yellow tinted iPhone X screen / Colour temp

Hi,

Recently bought an iPhone X as an upgrade on my carrier but as soon as I started using it as my daily driver, I started noticing that the screen was more warmer looking i.e. a yellower screen.

It really puts me off and makes the phone feel defective. I did have this problem when I upgraded my iPhone 6 to a iPhone 7 and saw a difference but I got used to that in a matter of days.

I can't get used to this however.

I should also mention that when I got my new iPhone 7, I did go to my phone carrier and say that the screen is looking yellow to which they replied it was just my eyes and there was nothing wrong with the phone. This is why i'm a little skeptical to go do the same thing with this phone.

Any help would be appreciated.

Apple in general has opted for warmer tone of the screen post iPhone 6. If night shift is not turned on and you feel it’s a bit warmer then that’s probably just natural.

See I don't know if it's me with using an iPhone 7 for so long and then upgrading to the X and i'm not used to it.

I would have thought I would have gotten used to the colour temp by now but I haven't which makes me a little paranoid that I have a defective screen.

If possible, go to an Apple store and compare your device next to one of the devices on display.

If the colour temp was off between my X and an Apple store demo X, would they even do anything?

Don't really want to travel a long way to an Apple store to be told that its a chararictisc of OLED screens and that nothing can be done about it.

To some extent it can be a characteristic of OLED but generally if your item is defective Apple does replace without question. You can compare your device against multiple devices on display just to ensure it doesn’t fall under usual OLED characteristic.

Can adjust in settings.

General, accessibility, display accomodations, colour filters on, colour tint, intensity nearly half and hue about a third to suit.

Those are my settings, with True Tone on and reduce white point off.

I find that changing the colour tint via the user is a iffy way to go.

Can never seem to get the white point right.

Turn the True Tone on. I like it that way

I really can't get used to it.

Having a screen which constantly changes its hue depending on the lighting conditions to which its in is not something I really want.
