I just noticed that my iPad 3G 64 GB has almost a gradient color issue. The left side of the iPad - when positioned in portrait - is noticeably warmer (more yellow) than the right side which is a cool blue color. For some perspective, its especially noticeble when comparing the left and right borders of the macforums.

I previously had a backlight bleeding issue with my iPad (confirmed by an Apple Genius) that I exchanged for this one. I actually took the gradient iPad into the store to have them look at it, but its not as dramatic as the backlight bleeding and thus I was told it was normal - I had the same Genius working with me and he was reluctant to give me another exchange.

I'm wondering if it actually is normal.... Does anyone else see this?

I don't have it on mine, but I did (and do with my replacement) have the uneven backlighting. How bad was your original backlighting problem? Is your replacement better?

I'm unhappy with the current backlighting problem I have, but I'm concerned about exchanging it again. Even though the backlighting problem is bad, I'm fortunate enough not to have gradient issues (like you describe), dead pixels, dust under the screen, or WiFi problems. I'm worried about getting into that endless exchange cycle, where I'm on a constant pursuit of perfection.

If you could, maybe post some pictures of the gradient issue, so that others are able to see the issue. And, if you could, maybe take a picture of your iPad on a black screen, so I can see what normal backlighting is supposed to look like.
