I think my Macbook Pro SR has sort of a yellowish cast near the bottom of the screen...

I bought it about 1 month ago (I've been on vacation), and I was wondering if there was still any chance I can possibly have the screen repaired/exchange for one that's not affected. I'm sort of hesitant to consult the Apple because I fear that because my 14 days return is long over and my warranty may not cover it.

Is it worth a shot to go to the Apple Store and give it a try?

I attached some pics (very image heavy)

Wow that looks like some bad yellowing. Most likely the Apple Store will not the MacBook Pro back, but you could try giving AppleCare a call (1-800-APL-CARE) and since your computer is under warranty it is completly free. But, I would give the store you bought it from a call and ask what they can do for you. Do you still have the box and such??

Sigh yes, I still have everything w/ me.

It's such a shame to buy a $3000 product (I live in Canada), only to find out 1/3 of the screen is yellow -_-;

To me I find this to be unacceptible. If somebody pays over $2000, I would and I am sure you would expect to receive it with no problems. I am really suprised that Apple has yet to announce the problem and they have done nothing except change from Samsung to LG LED Screens. They should atleast announce the problem and say that they would take full responsibility and let you return the computer and get a replacement. If I bought a new MBP 2.4GHz 15" and mine was yellow, I would call American Express and I would put a halt on my payment to Apple. When I got problems AMEX deals with it for me :)

I agree entirely.

I'm perfectly willing to spend more if I recieve the proper product the first time (it bypasses the hassle).

This is my 1st Mac, and I was really excited about it, agh, maybe I should've gotten that Sony Vaio instead even though the specs aren't as good...
