• Country Kit 065-9632 COUNTRY KIT.

The only problem is the monitor has not shown up yet.

I guess it will just be a paper weight until it shows up.

Also, I'm the last person in my house to get a Mac. My three daughters and wife all have 27" iMacs.

Thats a great configuration. Congrats on your new computer.

If the display does not arrive for the weekend, and you feel the urge to start configuring it, migrating your files and apps, etc... there are ways to do it without the display, by connecting a TV, or using one of your house iMacs as an external display. All you need is the correct cable/adapter, which comes always handy btw.

cheers!

Congratulations!

That's a wonderful configuration & a computer you're really going to enjoy.

My new Mac Pro is but one in a long line I've had. They are really fantastic.

Here's hoping your monitor arrives soon.

Enjoy :)

Thanks guys.

This machine is just a beast. :D

I had to call and cancel the monitor purchase and drive to the Apple Store to get purchase the 27" monitor. The quality of the picture is just awesome.

I did think about connecting the Mac to the 50" Plasma, but the wife was like no, no, no. Glad she told me no. I would be hard pressed to let anyone get on the TV and do anything. lolololol

My middle child started the whole Mac conversion six months ago. I'm glad that she was very annoying about it. :)

Now, I'm trying to figure out how to make the Mac stop crashing when I enable CrossFire in Windows 7 64 bit.

Congratulations on the Mac Pro!

Do you have the bridge connector connected?

Congratulations on the Mac Pro!

Do you have the bridge connector connected?

I tried the software crossfire first with Catalyst 11.9

As soon as I clicked enable crossfire Blue Screen of Death.

Re-Booted into Safe Mode and shut down.

Flipped the Video cars arounds, booted back up and as soon as I clicked enable crossfire Blue Screen of Death.

Purchased a bridge connector for the cards. Installed and as soon as I clicked enable crossfire Blue Screen of Death.

I'm wondering if there is a older version of Catalyst that has a better driver set.

Sorry you are having problems and I really really hate Crossfire and SLI. In hindsight getting the 5870 would solve all these issues. And still be faster. And no micro stuttering and steady frames and works on all games and you don't have to have a fleet of driver backups for "just the right one" for each game. Put the brakes on before the rabbit hole eats you alive. Else you may be testing and tweaking forever.

Well, I was able to find that using Catalyst 10.11 and then enabling CrossFire does not crash the system. I did read this somewhere last night, while drinking beer and surfing the web. :D

I do understand the Windows comment.

Hello. Does it came with Lion pre-installed? The restore media is a DVD or USB? The keyboard is the one with the new keys/layout for Lion?
Have a great fun with it!

Regards

If I had the money, I would go with a Mac Pro.

But I'll settle for a 27" iMac. :)

I too went back and forth on which machine to buy.

I really liked the iMac's, but when it came upgradeability I went with the Mac Pro. I felt this was the best route to proceed on.
