Yet another C2D MBP temperature question

Hi people,

Last night I've finally put my MBP (15"/2.33/2G) through its paces and let it run about an hour at full load (100% on one cpu - 50% total load). According to smcFanControl, the temperature reached 70C (158F), but the fans never picked up speed beyond the default 2000 rpm.

Is this thing normal? Should I increase the minimal fan speed?

and you were reading from the numbers on the Left side of the application and not the ones on the right?

Do you mean -- have I looked at the actual values, as opposed to the minimal settings? Yes, I have.

If I run my MBP at "full load", it'll reach 70C in a few minutes (less than 5 minutes) and I can hear the fans going around 74C. It takes you an hour at "full load" to reach 70C?

What I had meant to say was -- I ran it for an hour at full load. I think it had reached 70C rather quickly, and then I got panicky and increased the rpm myself.

The attached image was taken about 5 minutes into the computation.

Don't worry about it, I've seen it hit 78C. Mine stays at 66-70C all the time since I'm a heavy Photoshop user.
