Yet another graphics card question

So i have a 5.1 with the 5770. I boot to windows purely for games. I dont need any more oomph on the mac side.

Could i fit a windows gfx card alongside the 5770 and use it purely for windows gaming?

Or do i need to go down the route of getting a 7970 flashed for the mac anddrop the 5770? Just looking for options to get some hardcore gaming gfxon thewindows side without spending too much.

Get 7970 or GTX 680 and flash it. Both "worlds" will get enough juice. You can sell Apple 5770 for quite decent price to lower final cost of upgrade. PM me if you'd need help with flashing.

Looks good as long as it's 6+8 pin power, not the 8+8.

You'd need to make a custom ROM for any 7xxx card you'd want to flash.
Check netkas forum for detailed info or send me an original PC BIOS and I'll make a ROM for you.

There are some 680 4Gb cards with 2x6-pin too. The MSI Twin Frozr is one.

If budget is tighter, you could get a 7950 and flash that. They are almost all 2x6-pin too. I bought this one from Scan.co.uk and have the EFI rom already. PM me if you decide to get the same model and I'll send you the ROM.
