Is it okay to leave the iSight connected all the time (i.e. Firewire connected to the FireWire port all the time)?

Is it ON when it's connected or it's only ON when i turn on Video for iChat? The green indicator doesn't seem to be ON at the moment.

Is iSight turned on only when the Green Light is on?

Mine was plugged into my iMac for most of the afternoon and evening up to now, after using it briefly about five hours ago.... The light was off, but it was quite warm. I'm not exactly sure what is "working" to make it hot. The iMac itself is warm, but not way up there....

Your iSight is only on when the green light is on. As far as what is happening when the light is NOT on, I have no idea. My iSight is also pretty warm when it's idle.

Just wondering, are you worried about it overheating or something?

I don't think that's an issue with the iSights.
