Hey all! This is not so I get traffic on my website, I just would like some tips if at all possible.

I do not know html. This makes working in Dreamweaver, etc. pretty tricky. I'm also not a really big fan of SandVox or RapidWeaver, so I chose to use iWeb, even though some people complain that it is a little clunky and not very web compliant, so I really have no other choice.

If you could take a look at my personal portfolio site and let me know what you think in terms of design, speed of pages loading, etc that would be great. Thanks all. :)

Looks very nice, but it would be much nicer if on the content pages the links at the top would say what they were for when you moused over them.

Thanks for the repoly Chaszmyr, I also thought the same thing about the rollover. Unfortunately, iWeb doesn't have that functionality built in :( Maybe in a future release? I would prefer to not try and figure out how to edit the .html files either to do that, heh.

looks quite nice, but you know that eventually you're gonna have to get in there and learn html and css, right?
if you use fireworks, you can make pretty cool roll-overs and not worry about the html ;)

I like it. and as for rollovers in iweb. just create it as a simple flash button in flash, or a simple point and click flash button editor. it should be simple to do

and out of curiosity doesn't working from apple prevent you from posting to a place like this? and what do you do there?

Could somebody like me with total ignorance make a site like this with iWeb?
How much is it to get the domain name? I thought 'simple but cool.':)

Totally! All you have to know is some basic design principles. All my buttons are just icons I downloaded and took screen shots of in Finder :p It's amazing what you can do with simple type and colored boxes.

I actually signed up with a webhost by the name of SiteGround. Very nice. 250GB of space, unlimited bandwidth/month, free domain, and lots more. Around $80/year. Great deal!
