Are your MBA's fans running fast, even though you've reinstalled your SMC and done everything else you can think of? Have you stopped using the Arabesque screen saver, which as we've learned will cause your CPU to heat up like a shuttle engine and peg your fans at over 6000 RPM? If so, here's another tip for you:
When you're not using an application window, minimize it.
Any moving graphics on the screen cause the CPU to have to do more work. If graphics are moving constantly, this makes the CPU work even more. This, in turn, causes the CPU to heat up, which then causes the fans to speed up. In particular, web pages that contain a lot of moving banners, Flash movies, and such will cause your CPU to heat up even though you may not be doing anything else on the machine. Minimizing your application windows to the Dock will prevent your MBA from having to render graphics that you're not actually using at the moment, and your CPU will cool down and the fans will slow down as a result.
This may seem silly, but I've been testing this all day while working on other stuff... if I leave the Safari window up on the screen with a page showing a lot of animated/Flash banners going, the CPU heats up and the fans speed up to cool things down. Minimizing the Safari window or switching to a web page with no animations allows things to cool down.
