So I've decided that as nice as the 27" is, I don't really need quad core; no pro apps or extreme gaming. I like the size of the 21.5" better anyway, and the screens on the ones at the apple store were sooo nice. :) What I'm torn between is graphics. Does anyone know where to find benchmark comparisions between the integrated Nvidia in the base model and the dedicated ATI in the next model?

As I said, I won't be doing much gaming (I do that on my uMBP), but if there is a really huge disparity in performance, I'd rather spend extra $$ to get the ATI, especially with OpenCL on the horizon.

Thanks in advance!

Definitely. Wow, I wasn't expecting quite that disparity.

I have the 9400m model and I can confirm that I can watch the heaviest 1080p bluray videos. Also is working Aeroglass in VMware smoothly. So let's save those bucks if you can live with a 500 GB drive.

Thanks for posting that. I was trying to decide between the two as well and was concerned about how VMware would handle Aero on the 9400M.

Not doing any gaming on it and I wouldn't fill up over 500GB anyway so looks like i'll go the cheaper option and save myself some bucks.

As the poster above me said, thanks! That's very useful to know. It will make my decision easier. :) 1 TB vs. 500 GB isn't all that important to me anyway; not likely to fill up either one.
