Hi all,
Urgent help needed: I followed the update message, I got from plugging my 6s to iTunes blindly. Had never had a problem before. But I keep getting an error now. The iPhone boots into the well-known screen with a cable and a iTunes logo. When I connect, it tries to update, but fails. Is the only solution then to wipe the entire phone and get back to fabric settings?
I am not sure, how old my last backup is. I did not check to see if iTunes took one automatically before updating. How can this be checked?
No way to circumvent the proces?
Morten

a message in iTunes saying that the update failed, no code or number. I am then suggested to go back to the original settings
[doublepost=1456148478][/doublepost]right now, I am trying to restore instead of updating - but that process is stalling as well - iTunes writes: waiting on iPhone - and nothing happens
[doublepost=1456148725][/doublepost]now I got the following error: 4005
[doublepost=1456149304][/doublepost]did a restart, used another usb-port - and then the process got back on track - restoring now

Set it in DFU mode and restore to a fresh version of 9.2.1.

DFU restore fixes all issues. Not by clicking restore through iTunes, but by setting it on DFU. Try that.

thanks, that seems to be the next step, luckily, a reboot and a different usb-port did the trick

My 6 plus is having this problem too... trying DFU mode...

Update: DFU doesn't seem to have corrected it. (great acronym btw). I updated saturday the 20th and the phone shut down 2x that day but recovered by powering off. On Sunday the 21st it quit starting up altogether until I connected to iTunes, then restoring. Which usually fails but I have recovered it a couple times to (apparent) operating mode only to have it to end up back in recovery mode quickly (once it ran okay for about 12 minutes after a lengthy restore/resync).

What is up with this 13D20 version of 9.2.1?

Tried reboot, alternate USB port still failing to restore/recover the device. Looks like a trip to the apple store. I hate wasting time over there if it turns out to be the update but maybe it has uncovered something wrong with my phone.
