Well mine are waiting for me to pick up after I finish work today but I still have a few reservations about them. Not sure on the fit. I have the 2nd gen AirPods and I really like them and liked the first gen too. They fit well. I’m not sure about the tips and them staying in my ears and not causing discomfort.

I don’t commute to work anymore but I do walk for around 30 minutes each morning and I use my AirPods. I find myself having to turn up the volume just to drown out the sound of the traffic. Also when I’m at home in the evening I like to watch shows on my iPad whilst my husband is watching stuff on the TV. A lot of the time I can hear his programme and the only way to drown it out is to turn up the volume which I don’t want to do late a night.

I wouldn’t mind the water resistance and wireless charging.

It all comes down to the fit.

OP I hope you are enjoying your AirPods.

I was exactly the same. 1st gen fit perfectly & having never used in-ear buds I wasn‘t sure of their comfort duration.

I’m wearing the Pro’s until their battery goes flat, so it turned out to be nothing to worry about for me. Although, there may have been a short period of time where my ears just needed to get used to the new shape. They may feel different, but that doesn’t mean they wont fit. It’s just your ears adjusting I think - like your feet when you buy a new pair of shoes. You may need shorter/longer time to adjust...but make full use of the 14 day return period to give them a chance.

Also, tip selection is very important. I thought the Smalls were for me, but they ended up slowly slipping out over time because they didn’t hug the inside of the ear. They looked the best fit in the mirror because they went in further to start off with, but didn’t stay there.

Changed to the Mediums & they were much better.

Tip though, your natural skin oils will make the silicon slippery, so get into a habit of wiping the oils off the tips before you put them into the charger. They’ll grip much better & stay in longer.

The best feature of the Pro’s should help a lot here. Noise Cancellation will prevent you from playing content so loudly & save your hearing ?. Most background noises are nullified, but nearby voices & high pitch sounds will still be heard, albeit more muffled.

So I picked my pros up last night but didn’t set them up until this morning. So far I’ve no complaints at all! I put them on this morning and had the TV on. They were set to ANC on and as soon as I put them on I couldn’t even hear the TV anymore and I wasn’t even playing any music. The fit is perfect. I haven’t even tried the other tips. The ones that were on already are fine. They feel secure and comfortable. I walked 30 minutes to work this morning, it was raining heavily (I like walking even when it’s raining) and there was traffic. Had the ANC on and I couldn’t hear anything but my music. Had them in for the whole 30 minutes and they were comfortable and secure.

I can’t believe I waited so long to get them. I think it was fears of them being even more constrained due to Coronavirus that pushed me into getting them and I’m glad I did.

Brilliant. ANC is a beautiful thing for those who’s ears are suited for it. & the fact Apple gave us multiple sized tips with the APP gives more people the chance to make the most of them.
