Sorry, this probably doesn't deserve a thread, but I'm stumped; I simply can't seem to get Airdrop to work for me between my MBP (late 2010) running Yosemite 10.10 and my iPhone 5s, iOS 8.0.2.

All I want is to be able to easily/quickly transfer photos from my iPhone to my MBP [without connecting through a cord or emailing them myself]. No, don't want to use 3rd party cloud app.

I've been looking forward to using the Airdrop feature between my iPhone and MBP, and didn't expect frustration. And I've not seen any specific guides for this, though I expect some will be released by Apple once Yosemite goes live in a week or so.

Meanwhile, any guidance? Thanks!

The late 2010 Macbook Pro does not have the necessary hardware to support OS X to iOS airdrop. That hardware was first in the 2011 Macbook Pro. Sorry.
