Yosemite and 4 button mice

So, it turns out that USB Overdrive doesn't work with Yosemite yet. USB Overdrive is what I've been using to program my 4 button mouse. Things like button 3 going "back" in chrome/safari/finder history.

And worse yet, the scroll wheel ... now only scrolls down maybe 10 pixels with each roll. After getting used to it programmed to scroll an entire page, this is quite maddening.

Real question is not when USB Overdrive will be fixed, but why are these kinds of basic things built into OSX? The system preferences->Mouse settings have maybe 3 options. How stupid

I feel your pain, I use an old MS Explorer mouse and scrolling has been getting noticably more difficult over several major OS versions now. I know what you're saying when each roll (I call them "notches") only translates to a few pixels of movement.

I usually use Mouse 3, 4 and 5 for Expose/Mission Control, which the system can do natively.

Many recent Macs came with a Magic Mouse or trackpad–which can use two finger/inertial scrolling, or swipes to go forward and back. I doubt third party mice scrolling was a priority, even though bring-your-own-mouse-and-keyboard was a "feature" for Mac minis

Even going back a bit to a Mighty Mouse, each notch on the scroll ball was physically very tiny, so it was relatively easy to scroll quickly.

Any luck with System Preferences -> Accessibility -> Mouse & Trackpad-> Mouse Options -> Scroll Speed?

I checked that scroll speed option, and already had it set to max. I did find another 3rd party software that seems to be working, though. Steermouse. Sucks I have to pay $20 to get this basic functionality working!

USB Overdrive seems to work in GM2

Steermouse always seems to work better for me, so I stick with it.

Hopefully not too far off subject, no problems with Kensington TrackballWorks 1.1.2
Running just fine with a K64325 Expert. All prefs intact, scroll wheel as before.
