Do any of you have issues with Pdf files and preview. I opened one up on my early 2009 Mac mini and it basically freezes the system up, it becomes very in responsive till I close preview. The Mac mini is 2.0 ghz and runs an SSD with 4gb ram. I was looking at activity monitor nothing seemed out of place so I don't know why the system just freezes like that. With Adobe reader it works much better and the system does not freeze.

I have a similar issue. It seems to be some sort of Yosemite bug in pdf rendering the problem is being discussed under this threads:

i cannot open large pdf files with Yosemite

i had no issue with the same pdf files with Mavericks

continuity "cut the rope" and "angry birds" are working perfectly however i cannot read my medical pdf files on my macbook pro retina late 2012

apple released the new operating system and assumed that we do not need to read pdf files.

and then we are saying that with a "mac" you can work professionally and with a windows pc you cannot

if Steve Jobs was alive this issue would never exist on a mac running OX
