Yosemite and Safari

I got a feeling that with the latest OS X Safari needs an update because the performance isn't that great. I got a new MacBook Air (Early 2014) and Safari is really beautiful with OS X 10.10 but it not as good in terms of stability..

Have you experienced the same thing with Safari?

Yosemite forced to switch back to Firefox because Safari is all around bad (design and performance)

I like the design plus the iCloud thing that makes things easier for me.

How's it been with Firefox? Without a stable Chrome, I need to move away from Safari as well.

I think Safari is the best of the browsers, but it could be better. Part of the problem is that many websites aren't Safari friendly although more and more are becoming so as more and more businesses and universities migrate to Mac. I do use Firefox when I need to go to a site that is not set up for Safari: but, I don't like to do so. I've heard both good and bad things about Chrome, but haven't had any reason to use it.

One good thing about Firefox used to be that it was set up for Private Browsing. Now that Yosemite lets you set up Private Browsing as a choice for your Home Page so that you can always open on PB if you so wish, Firefox's advantage is gone.

But, my preference for Safari may just be a personal reaction. Do what is most comfortable and best for you. That is usually the bottom line.

its pretty stable. My only complaint is the scrolling isn't always smooth but the beta version (34) fixed that

Really? I think the consensus on Safari, both from reviews and personal experience, is that performance is one of its strong suits. Silky-smooth from day one. One caveat is that I don't -and will never have- flash installed.

Not here, no crashes, very stable, works with some sites that weren't Safari-friendly under Mavericks, smooth scrolling and fast.

The Reset Safari option is gone as well in the latest version.

If its anything like mine, I would only take issue with fast. It opens and loads dog slow. I now simply close the page and leave Safari on at all times. That took care of my first issue. The second I'd like to improve. Its been that way since Mavericks, on 2 Mac's, one delivered with Mavericks and both now on clean installs of Yosemite.

I'll wait it out for a stable version of Chrome. As much as I don't care for Google, my Mavericks experience is its quick.

For the most part it works fine for me. However one website has strange reload behaviors that I do not see with Firefox.
