I'm running Yosemite Beta 2, and Spotlight Suggestions do not work at all. Spotlight search only returns local (on the machine) results, even though web suggestions and Bing integration are enabled in Preferences.

Also, for me the Spotlight entry window is just a search box in the middle of the screen, without the icons and notification message that Spotlight now supports web searches that I've seen in screenshots.

Currently traveling abroad but have all OS settings set to U.S. and English.

Not sure if this is a universal problem, but would like to see how many people are having the same issue. Much appreciated. Thanks.

Are you running an app like Little Snitch? Maybe you blocked the process from the internet.

Nope, not running that, and I've tried turning the built-in Firewall off and it still wouldn't work.

Are you in a country that does not allow full access to the internet? (North Korea, China, Iran, and maybe some other guys?) I am guessing by "cassini" that its possibly Italy?

Have you tried changing your regional settings to the area in which you are currently located?

Things are looking slightly better now with a Spotlight re-index. At least some Bing web results are showing. But still no Spotlight Suggestions :(

Update: Re-indexed Spotlight, now Bing results are showing, but Spotlight Suggestions are still missing.

Not sure if there is some kind of way (via Terminal or otherwise) to "reset" Spotlight Suggestions.

Missing too here in Czech Republic, Europe, where there's definitely no limitation on Internet access. Same is true for iOS 8 betas. Seems the Suggestions are limited to certain countries only.

So the Bing results worked for all of half a day, and now back to square one: no Spotlight Suggestions or Bing.

as far as i know it is only enabled for US English so far even though i saw the german flag on the slide about the new spotlight during the keynote for example

I wish I could get irrelevant results from Bing's or wrong directions from Apple Maps :(

I never got any Spotlight suggestions (bing, weather etc)... been running all DP versions of Yosemite.

Noticed the SpotlightWebHelper process is always not responding...

Really hope they fix this :(
