Is anyone else experiencing lower than normal wifi speeds on Yosemite beta 3 than before at any other time? I never had wifi issues with Mavericks and it's odd that it's causing my Macbook Air to have lower speeds than my other laptops in the house (Windows 8 laptops, which are getting 50mpbs) while my Macbook Air is getting only 10-20mpbs and not staying stable enough.

Please let me know if this is because of Yosemite bugs or if maybe I should take it into Apple.

Why are you using beta software for day to day use? If you do that, plan on putting up with bugs.

Wifi Speed Crippled

Yes.. Using and MBA 2013 early model, having very very slow transfer rate after the beta 3 update. same wifi connection on another laptop is 15MBps, on my mba is only 0.5 to 1MBps..
Well, my mistake of testing the beta early on my daily use mba. Back to Mavericks i guess.

P.S : i tried resetting the router, changing the ip sequence, checking with ISP provider and even clearing much disk space on mba.. all thinkable options tried and failed.

It is and it also causes teething issues unless you plug in USB

I've done all these things as well, I guess the only option is to revert back to the ugliness that is Mavericks. Let me know if Mavericks solve this for you on the MBA. Thanks!

It's good to know that I wasn't the only one going through this. Are you waiting it out for Beta 4 to *hopefully* fix this issue, or going back to Mavericks? I have to say... Slow download speeds are killing me.

Whoever sees this, make sure you file a bug report to Apple and they'll tell you if it is a known issue or not. They'll likely ask you to run the sysdiagnose command and upload it to the report.

Apple do priority their issues based on the number of people reporting it. So, even if you see this and you think it is a known issue already, you should still file it.

Do not skip filing bug reports because it is a beta, that's precisely why .0/.1 releases are bad.

I don't know if I have the same problem but I also have speed issues on Yosemite. I have been trying to pinpoint the issue and may have figured out the cause of this. I have an Airport Extreme connected to my modem (1st floor) with another older generation Extreme (2nd floor) extending the network. In both speed tests, I'm 3 feet away from the second router.

Here's two photos. First is slow and second is fast. See the difference?

Both tests were using the same network. In the first speed test, I turned off the 5GHz network. Then I re-enabled 5GHz network on both routers without joining them and did another speed test.

Strange isn't it?

Yeah, on my 2013 Air, speeds were horrendous before, but on the latest DP, they've improved greatly, and I don't have as many issues with 5GHz bands anymore. On a side note, I hate how the Wi-Fi icon always shows full bars, even when I'm at the edge of the signal range and am experiencing an obvious loss of wireless bandwidth.

Did you ever get this fixed this is exactly what is happening to me.
