I am starting this discussion to centralize feature requests for Yosemite.

1. Ability to selectively turn off translucency. Translucency looks nice on the Dock, it is poor where text is involved.

2. Set default behavior for Green Zoom button in System Preferences. My clients would prefer the Green Zoom button to go to full window - like Microsoft Windows. Why not provide some optional settings in System Preferences.

Additional Request

Ability to change the folder color back to Mavericks color. When you are looking at 50 folders the color is just too distracting.

Folders aren't for art, they serve an organizational function. Mavericks folders were very easy on eyes in a non distracting way.

If you have issues with translucency in selected applications, you need to contact the developers of that app. All translucency that you see there has been deliberately added by the developer. In the stock Yosemite OS, I don't see many examples of translucency paired with text. The menus is maybe the most notable one, but it seems to work quite well, because the background alpha is kept to a fairly low level.

You can double tap on a window title bar to get it to change size without going full screen. You can also hold down option and the full screen arrows on the green circle will change to a plus and do what you want.

I don't believe there is a way to make the green circle default to the plus and switch it so that the option key brings the full screen option up, though I'm sure some enterprising developer could write a mini-app or script for that.

Options Please

Thank you for your responses.

I am aware of the option click tactics. However, clients continue to ask every year as they have since 2007, if this is the year that they will be given the option to set the green zoom button to work like it does in Microsoft Windows.

An option controlling the behavior of the green zoom in System Preferences would be highly appreciated.
