Yosemite constantly updating?

I have a MBP that I updated twice to get to DP3 which I am now running. However, every time I reboot or turn on the computer, I get a long progress bar like the one that shows up when it's updating. Anyone else get this or is it a normal part of Yosemite?

Been there since DP1. It's not an update bar but a boot progress bar. It just show the progress of loading all the files need to boot up.

Ah ok, because it goes a short way, reboots and then goes the full way.

It's also a passive-aggressive way of showing you that you need to upgrade to a new with a SSD.

The progress bar when booting actually reminds me of the Classic Macintosh days, with OS 9 and beneath, as well as when 10.0. to around 10.2 showed a progress bar after the initial Apple logo.

Perhaps a nod to the classic days?
