I have downgraded from Yosemite back to Mavericks and I can't access iWork through iCloud.com or the iWork apps. It says that "I've upgraded to iCloud Drive and that won't be available until later this year."

Granted I did upgrade to iCloud Drive when I installed the Yosemite beta, but when I reinstalled Mavericks it says I'm still "using" iCloud Drive even though that option is no longer available to me. Because of this problem I no longer have the ability to sync the work I do on iWork between devices and my computer.

I also have had iOS 8 installed at the time, but went back to iOS 7 as well. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any way to fix this.

Thanks for reading.

You must have missed it, but when upgrading to iCloud Drive you're warned that you cannot go back to iCloud Documents & Data and that your iCloud documents will only be accessible from Yosemite and iOS 8 devices from there on out. You cannot downgrade back to the old iCloud system.

There are actually quite a few threads here in this forum discussing this issue you might want to look at to validate what I'm telling you.

No worries. I must've missed it like you said. It's not that big of a deal. It's more so an inconvenience than anything. I can work around it.

thanks for the quick reply.

I must have missed it as well, but no biggie, there are very few challenges. Sure iCloud won't sync my iWork docs, but I've been using MS Office more as of late, so that is one workaround for now. Most other things that would have synced through iCloud (Day One, 1 Password) I have been able to move, for now, to Dropbox and all is working fine. Sure, a little inconvenient, but that is my fault for clicking to do the upgrade to iCloud drive without first fully understanding the consequences. As they say Live and Learn and it's only a a matter of 1-3 months until we see Yosemite and iOS 8 anyway, I can live with it.

All my other stuff that normally synced through iCloud (calendar, Contacts, Reminders, Photos etc) are all working as usual - But then again they were not part of the Documents & Data folder so they should have been unaffected anyway.

Yeah it's not the end of the world type of thing. I can wait until the final releases comes out.
