Yosemite seems top have an off habit of 'shaping' traffic over the network. That's the best I can describe it.
Case in point: Copying 12 files. Each over 200MB. Yosemite starts off ripping through the copying, and then starts slowing down. The last files to be copied are not sped up as the load lessens. They stay at the same speed as when they started, or slower, plus the copy threads will sometimes go from six to one, and there are plenty more items to copy.
It's almost cringe worthy watching it copy files. Some end up copying in the KB/sec range, and others copy at 90 MB/sec. It's just annoying as I have so many large files left to be copied...
