Hi guys, This isn't a complaint or a whinge ...

2007 iMac.

Yosemite is working terrifically on this old iMac. I absolutely love it !!

One curious and I have to admit, annoying, anomaly is that Mission Control gives quite a stutter when opened, and when I go to change space, when there is more than one Space occupied. This was as smooth as silk with Mavericks ....

I have turned off desktop in MC preferences (whatever it means) as
someone on the web suggested, but it makes no difference.

I realise it may be just a product of my old iMac but because it is performing so well in other respects I wondered if there is any issue with anyone else or any ideas on what else might be causing it ?

Any ideas ?

Does anyone have an suggestion on this ? Is it possible that it is just part of the possible graphics issues that appear to be needing some correction in a 10.01 ?

Solved !

After some accidental experimentation .......

The cause of the stutters when entering Mission Control and switching between Spaces, as well as some stuttering when rolling along the taskbar ..

The cause was the Application "f.lux".

I discovered this app a while ago and have enjoyed using it. It adjusts the screen brightness and colour tone according to daylight/night. I later discovered that had set the time that I get up in the morning incorrectly .. but before I did, I dicided to quit it and stop it starting on Login.

Suddenly today ... ALL OF THE STUTTERING WAS GONE. As if by magic.

I knew the only app I had changed for f.lux. So I started it again and .... stuttering was back. I rebooted five more times with it on/off and I am now certain this was the cause.

NOTE: Of course I realise that mine is an old iMac and it won't affect modern iMacs anything like as much ... but I suggest that if anyone is using the app, they should turn it off, stop it starting at login (dock and Preferences) and check if it improves your graphics ...

All the best !

I am having similar graphics problems with a 2012 mac mini. Tried quitting f.lux, removing it from the startup programs, and restarting, but the lag persists:(

Some people (like me!) are having a lot of graphics lag with Yosemite. I had to go back to Mavericks because Yosemite stuttered all over the place and I couldn't play any games. Glad to hear it was just an app for you, since I didn't do a clean install maybe I had something old causing the problem somewhere.

Still waiting until 10.10.3 or something until I go back though lol
