Anybody using Yosemite on white macbook unibody mid 2010 or similar laptop? i'm still using Lion coz when I upgraded to it laptop had slowed down terribly. I bumped up the RAM to 4gb & that resolved the issue.
Now with much advanced Yosemite not sure what will need to be replaced/upgraded so it works normal. Here are my current specs,

Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
250 GB SATA Disk

Anybody using Yosemite on macbook unibody mid2010? How is the experience?

I have white macbook 2010. Yosemite is working normally with one exception: sometimes interface lags. And - my eyes get tired after 2 hours.

To be clear, your white, plastic Macbook is not a "unibody" Mac. Unibody Macs only include the aluminum models.

The only "unibody" non-Pro Macbook released in 2008, after which only MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models released with unibody designs.

Thought it might be a good idea to clarify that so you don't confuse yourself or others in the future. ;)

Wrong! 2010 last macbook is plastic unibody.

To OP: the 2010 white MB runs Yosemite very well. I have it going with a samsung ssd and 10G of ram and has not hiccups!

Good luck,
X

It appears that some places on the web do refer to a few of the plastic models as unibody, but Apple's own website refers to it as a "Recyclable polycarbonate enclosure". The word unibody is not used to describe that model anywhere on their product info page for it. This is all despite the fact that it bares a strong resemblance to the aluminum MacBook Pros released that same year.

Anyway, not really worth arguing about, just thought it was worth mentioning.

So i did install Yosemite couple of days ago and so far its working pretty well. Really have only spent a day so far mostly browsing on it. I use preview, facetime and office apps simultaneously when school is in full swing. That will be the real test of this thing.
However one thing i do notice is since I have gotten used to retina display on my iphone, i miss that clarity on the macbook. Especially with this new OS, I think I am unable to enjoy the full benefits. In addition, I seem to be missing the calling function. Iphone seems to 'pair' with macbook but then says something like cannot establish contact. Not sure whats wrong here....
Overall I'm content to have the latest OS working on my macbook.
