Anyone have Yosemite installed on a 2010 13" MBP? If so, did it work out OK?

I'm still on Snow Leopard. Wondering if Yosemite will be too slow.

One more thing...I intalled xcode to get a c compiler and other tools on Snow Leopard. Would I have to do the same if I installed Yosemite?

Yes, it works fine. Lion and up really benefits from a SSD due to the resume feature, but you have one so you're good.

How did you install it?

Back up all user data, then install the OS, then restore all the user data?

Or some other way?

If you have the money, swapping out the HDD with an SSD will help speed it up too. Apps will open with one bounce, and the overall quickness will increase.
