I had the public beta running on my macbook air before it broke. I then purchased a retina macbook pro. I want to install the public beta onto my pro retina, but it says that my redemption code has been used. As such, I went into the app store under the purchased section, and yosemite was there, but it was an august released build.

If I want to get to the most current version, how do I go about it? Should I install the August build, and then it will allow me to update to the current version?

Yeah. You can get it that way. But it should be saying Beta 4 now in the purchases tab. If so, just download and install that and you will already be up-to-date.

It should still say Beta 4 when you see it in the App Store. The date is not the day the latest build was released, it was the day the app was purchased/redeemed.
