I went to interfacelift to download a couple of wallpaper and whenever I would click the download button the picture would sometime be incomplete or blurry. I didn't have this problem in Maverick. Microsoft Word would also sometime crash or take a pretty long time to load. So is this normal?

Yep, it's a beta. Report any problems to Apple via the Feedback Assistant app.

slow

on my iMac early2012 on an external FW800 with SSD it is slow compared to Mav. Slow boot, relativ slow reaction, not that fun to use. Fresh install don't helped that much vs upgrade from Mav, and yes, I know, FW800 is a bottleneck but all in all Mav flies on the same SSD ;-).

Unfortunately I didn't back up my computer before installing the yosemite beta so now I can't do anything about it.

DP5 loaded on to a 64gb SanDisk Extreme USB 3.0 stick is lightning fast on my 2013 MBA... Faster than Mavs in many apps/programs. Safari 8 is Chrome-Like fast. MS Word 11 opens instantly.

People are always reminding each other that the PBs and DPs are betas.

Btw, I have noticed similar behaviour too. Refreshing the page always fixed it. Did you try refreshing the web page?

I feel my MBP is faster with Yosemite installed and running. It is almost as fast as my office laptop which is a $200 windows 7 core 2 duo.

It will be slower then a general release OS, but from what I see where, reports are that for a beta its performance is rather good.
