Yosemite release date?

sometime next month during the october apple event they will announce the release date.
Which would lend credibility to the theory that the next "Public Beta" will most likely be the GM.
when is the october event maybe they'll release Yosemite after the event like last year with mavericks
Mavericks GM was released on 10/3 last year, if that means anything to others here.

Now we have iOS8 iCloud drive and cannot use all features, due to the fact: no yosemite. It would be nice, if apple released iOS8 and yosemite the same time.
October 21st. This was announced sometime yesterday, but I can't go about wading in the ocean of threads right now.

iOS 8: September 17th
2013:
OS X: October 22nd
iOS 7: September 18th
2012:
OS X: July 25th
iOS 6: September 19th
2011:
OS X: July 20th
iOS 5: October 12th
Notice how 2012 and 2014 had releases on odd-numbered dates, while 2013 and 2011 were even-numbered. Just found that interesting.

I think I got Yosemite today... LOL I am not a developer and i installed an update to mavericks, and somehow got Yosemite. And I already got another update "OS X 10.10 Update 1"

In the absence of a press release, there are articles such as this, with reference to 22nd October:
Apple's next product splash slated for second half of October – referred from Apple Said to Plan October 21 Media Event to Launch New iPads, OS X Yosemite [Update: No]
That date was "noped" by Jim Dalrymple, it isn't happening. Which is interesting because the dates so far have been just like last year, the 21st was the logical choice. Makes me think something's not ready yet. Maybe Yosemite will just release at the end of October, and there will be a Mac/iPad event later in November.
