I downloaded and installed Yosemite last night but when I go to my app store instead of seeing "downloaded" I see "download" still, Is this normal? I checked under "About this mac" and it says I have Yosemite version 10.10 installed and when I click "download" in the app store it says "OS X v10.10 is already installed on this computer. Use the Updates page to install the 10.10 update or if you would like to download the full OS X installer click Continue."
Could anyone tell me if this is normal or is something wrong?

Yeah this is normal App Store behavior with OS installers. If you want to download the installer again, go to the Purchased tab and look for it. It'll let you download after a prompt.

But what will happen if I download it again if I already have yosemite installed? If I click download again while it is installed already won't that cause problems?

----------

I have this issue too, did you have the developer / beta version too?
No I don't have a developer/beta version.

No it'll only download the installer. It won't install the OS unless you initiate it.

Even if you did install Yosemite on a machine that already runs Yosemite, there won't be any problems, so don't worry.

What do you mean it will only download the installer and how are you sure it won't cause any problems or crashing if I installed yosemite again while it is already installed? And can anyone tell me why it says "download" if it is already downloaded and installed?

It won't cause any problems. Trust that.

You're not downloading the OS but the installer of the OS. You'll need to manually hit install and go through the steps before it actually installs. It doesn't do it manually.

It just doesn't say "downloaded". That's it. That's how the App Store works if the app in question is an OS installer.

But did my yosemite install ok or was there some type of problem while being installed and that's why it says "download" instead of "downloaded" or "installed". What does yours say by the way under purchases and did you have beta installed? And are you positive that if I download and install yosemite again while it is already installed that it will cause no issues? A lot of questions, sorry.

Your question has been answered multiple times...

It is normal behaviour.

This is normal. It's so you can download it again if you wish.

So do you guys all have this as well? Does it say "download" yosemite under purchases for you guys? is it just for the people who had beta installed or what? I didn't have Yosemite beta installed but it seems like this is happening to people that did have beta installed, so did you guys have beta installed?

Once again, this is normal. Everybody has this. It is so you can re-download the OS again if you wish to.

What I find odd with the App store is, I have Mavericks downloaded through it and stored on two hard drives. Yet it's not even listed under Purchases. Where Lion and Mountain Lion is listed.
