Hello, I was wondering if anyone here may be able to help me out.
I have a network drive that has been formatted to HFS+ with several thousand files, mostly sound effects. When I search via Spotlight for things either on the computer the network drive is attached to or using the "Connect to Server" feature on another Mac, it will eventually populate what I am looking for depending on how many files are related to the keyword I am searching for. Let's say for example I search for the word "whoosh" and it takes 2-3 minutes to find 30,000 "whoosh" files. The next time I search for "whoosh" the time it takes to list the search results now only takes 2 seconds.
Does anyone know where this cache/metadata is stored for this? I would like to save this directory/file, so I can copy it to other Mac's and not have anyone wait for the search results.
Or better yet, does anyone know how I can cache the entire drive, so that way when I search for a keyword that has not been used before, it won't take 2-3 mins?
