What's the best way to do this?

CCC the 2 machines to External HDD then boot from USB drive - Anything else I'm missing?

I'm upgrading a 2010 Mac Mini and a 2012 Mac Pro both from 10.10.5. Have always upgraded these machines since their stock OS version and have never done a clean install so I think it's a good time to do it.

Thanks!

Can you do a time machine backup for all of those machines once and clean install, then manually import needed data by exploring inside backup?
