You can add more than 5 fingerprints at a time!

Hello folks!
I found a trick to register more than 5 fingerprints at a time!
You go to Settings>Touch ID and passcode>Add a fingerprint
Then you add one finger. When it asks you to ajust your grip, you just put another finger every time. That's it!

This technique will drastically decrease the accuracy and security of the sensor.

What if I have gloves on and I register my nose as a fingerprint?

I would be extremely curious to know how this would work for that finger you originally register. Could you really use two different fingers to unlock without problem?

I used to do this, it wont work well. Especially if you have grease on the home button, it's going to screw up the chance of login in on the first attempt

Each to their own, but having 4 fingers registered seems perfect to me (thumbs and forefingers).

I don't think that's going to work very well. You'll just end with a screwed up amalgam of both prints that's not as good as either.

I can't prove it but I believe TouchID continues to learn your print after the initial training. I base this on the fact a lot of problems are rectified by erasing and redoing your print, this suggests the data doesn't remain static. Also, I have problems with my skin getting dry and peeling. TouchID seems to cope with this for a while until it craps out totally, I use lotion on my fingers and they improve to normal but they won't unlock my phone. It gives the impression the data has been changing as my fingers did but the sudden reversion is too much of a difference. If this is true your TouchID will be overwriting the confusing data anyway.

To be fair, Touch ID working 99%+ of the time is that much better.

This would be my concern. Misconstruing security information doesn't seem like a great idea.

I played around with it trying to see if I could register multiple fingerprints then use an unregistered fingerprint to get in. It didnt work but I still don't trust doing it nor can I imagine a circumstance where I'd find it useful.

I have done this with every iOS device I have had with the fingerprint sensor. It has never caused me inaccuracy issues. Honestly, I can't even remember the last time I got a missread... (Except when I intentionally do it with rubber gloves on when working on my vehicles to trigger the original screen unlocking)
