My wife and I have had a secondary iCloud account, which among other things allowed us to share notes (shopping lists, recipes, etc.) with each other. Today, as I'm in the Notes app on my iPad all the notes from the shared account disappear. Check my iPhone, the account is still there...for a moment, and then disappears before my eyes. I double check in Settings to see if Notes is selected for the secondary iCloud account. The option is there, but moments later is gone. Same thing happened on iPad, iPhone, and my iMac. Didn't change anything today, but updated to iOS 10.2 and MacOS 10.12.2 last week.

Did apple purposely take away Notes on secondary iCloud accounts?

Apparently I had never "upgraded" my Notes app to the version that allows you to draw notes. This happened automatically today when I plugged an Apple Pencil into my iPad for the first time. It seems the upgraded notes app removes the ability to have notes on a secondary iCloud account, but adds a sharing feature.

I hope someone finds this useful.

You may find it useful to know that the Notes app now supports shared/collaborative notes without needing a shared iCloud account.

I did eventually figure that out, which makes the change a little more manageable. Thanks.
