I am getting my nieces their own ipads (WiFi only models), and one of the main reasons is so they can facetime with their grandmother. However, as children, neither one of them has their own email address and their mother has been very against creating email addresses for them in the past because she believes they're too young.

I have a feeling that the parents will just want to use their email addresses for their kids, but I'm guessing that won't work very well since if the grandmother tries to facetime the kids, they will only end up facetiming the parents instead.

Is there any way around this? It's a WiFi only model so there is no phone number to use.

They will each have their own email address - but they don't need to be able to send and receive email.

Would it be the same email address that is linked to their itunes account?
