Hi everyone, today my iPhone’s lock screen displayed the message “You recently changed your passcode. Enter your new passcode to unlock iPhone.”

The issue is, I did not change my passcode. Entering my existing passcode worked to unlock it, but I am concerned that my phone’s security has been compromised in some way. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Some additional info: I bought this phone new and set it up a couple days ago with a passcode and Face ID but did not make any changes after the initial set up to either. Thanks!

I've had this on both a recently purchased iPhone and iPad, both of which had the passcode set at initial setup and neither of which has had it changed since. Apple Support couldn't explain it either and suggested it might be an error.
