iPod You Suck, Disney Vault!!!!

So, there are 4 movies going into the Disney Vault at the end of the month. Should I buy them from iTunes store or buy the dvds. I have been buying movies from itunes store that are on sale and so-forth. As I have stated in other threads, I'm loving the thought of not having any more storage issues. Purchasing music from the store has certainly helped my storage immensely.

Should I buy the dvds and forget it - or buy them from the itunes store. Wondered what the thoughts were....I'm leaning toward the dvds, but they ARE cheaper on the ITS.

They'll just bring them out of "the vault" a while later, just a marketing gimmick.

What movies are they? Can you just buy the DVD's used?

They will actually be unavailable for a period of years. Authorized resellers are supposed to return unsold stock back to Disney for full credit.

Can you buy them used? Sure, but they'll go for a premium. There are people who make a living buying these up and reselling them on eBay when the supply goes away. Although I would guess the whole transition to BluRay -- or not -- might add an element of risk to that business.

We used to buy these all when they came out or were reissued, but the kids have begun to lose interest.

I don't have access to iTunes right now, are these titles available for rent? If so I'm curious as to whether these will still be available from iTunes after they go in the vault.

Don't buy them and stick it to Disney and this stupid "vault" it has. The arrogance of the tools in their home video division to pull that stunt is just awe-inspiring. "Our movies are so great that we're going to limit the timeframe in which you can buy them!"

It's definitely a crappy business practice that Disney has when they do this. In fact, I think it costs them money because while these films are "in the vault", there are young kids who would like to see these movies, then they can't, and by the time they are re-released they don't care anymore.

My advice would be, to the OP, is buy the DVD. That way you have a physical copy of the movie and then just rip it into your iTunes library. Put it in your own "vault".
