That is the message you get if you go to the Software Update menu option each and every day... Not sure what you'd expect it to say.

Now the majority of ATV users don't see anything and don't try and manually look for the software update. They'll just get a notification one day that a new update is available and be asked if they would like to download it.

Have courage. The "Take 2" update will appear there soon enough. :)

You know this is gonna happen .....

No sooner than " Take 2 " arrives, there will be complaints!

" Take 2 doesn't do _________ ! "
" Take 2 doesn't have _________ ! "
" I updated to Take 2 and now my menus are all screwed up! "

It will be fun to see who the complainers are as they line up to gripe, it seems perhaps that line has already formed! :D

Personally I have come to accept Apple TV as it is for the moment, even with the shortcomings I perceive it to have. When Take 2 is released I plan a trip to the Apple Store to spend some time playing with it, and see if it addresses anything that might interest me. Then if it does interest me, I will sit and wait before updating to see the feedback from others who have updated, to hear what they have to say.

reminiscent of Dire Straits.

I want my, I want my :apple:tv

Remember though....they made the "one or two weeks delayed" announcement on Wednesday, so technically they could release it as late as Wednesday of next week, to honor the delay announcement. Of course, lets face it, they have every right to delay it as long as they want.

I am more than happy to wait, please make it perfect. However, don't tease us with one or two more weeks. Tell us four or five more weeks than surprise us with a release within two.

I really expected them to release it within a week more, just to please us. Waiting until the last day is no good for me. Next time, please Apple tell us three weeks if you plan to wait until the very last day.

Truthfully, I am interested in how it will handle the movie collection we own. Will we be able to sort by genres? Will the search function include movies we own or just movies for rent? Will the UI look the same as the rent screen? Give me more information Apple...please.

That is what I was hoping for, but I don't think from what I am seen that Genre searching will be available for owned movies, whether ripped or purchased through iTS. I think the Genre menu is only for searching rentals.

I hope they've employed the finest programmers to work on the Take 2. I know it's a hard job writing software to allow music videos to play without having to select each one individually, but I really hope they manage it this time. That really would be the cutting edge of software design...

Don't hold your breath.
