Already twice this week when I went to wake up my MBP 16" I got this error. It started when I installed 11.2 and CCC. I hope it is not CCC as I just purchased a license.

It's becoming annoying now as before 11.2 and CCC it never happened but since installing both it happened twice already. I might happen after doing a CCC backup. Last time I did a backup it Kernel Panic after wake.

Before anyone says anything I checked my Console and Crash Reports are empty so I can't show you any logs.

Okay just happened again after waking up my comupter before running a CCC backup. Wish I never bought that trash. I wonder if I can get my money back.

I also have a log file I copyed. Let me know if CCC is causing it.

I see no evidence CCC is to blame.
Then why does it seem to crash after doing a CCC backup. I did not do one for over a week and I had no crashes. As soon as I run a CCC backup then put my laptop to sleep a few hours later it crashed.

I already emailed CCC asking for a refund. Don't know if I would get one or not. I should have stuck with Time Machine I had zero crashes when using it.

You just said the crash happens after you put your Mac to sleep. Putting your Mac to sleep has nothing to do with CCC, especially when it isn't being used.

I think you are jumping to conclusions and getting mad at the wrong party. There have been reports of Mac crashing after coming out of sleep in Big Sur.

I had similar problems if one of my external drives was attached to a USB port on my M1 MacBook Pro. Currently using 11.3 beta and haven’t had a problem yet.

In my experience TM is far more likely to fail than CCC.

What hardware are you backing up to? Most likely the problem is there.

I had similar problems if one of my external drives was attached to a USB port on my M1 MacBook Pro.

As above, the enclosure matters. I have maybe 20 CCC tasks, 5 or 6 are run daily on Big Sur to multiple enclosures. Not a single issue, other than the known APFS clone problem.

Here’s a sample log I saved if it helps - see attachment.

When I hook up my external SSD I have no crashes. It might be my external spinning hard drive causing it. As I said I only get kernel panics when it is sleeping.

I had the same problem during back up to time machine but the back up was to the Time Capsule instead. i have been having countless times of kernel panic until i realized it happened during my automatic backup. Last update was January 31. been searching through all the sites i can find and had no luck so far. i have seen a few comments about kernel panic but no solutions yet.
