OK it's early in the morning and I can't sleep so I decided to look at my MacRumors post history. More specifically my early thoughts on the iPad. I remember what I thought back then but it's still funny to read what I had to say. Basically I did not want a big iPod Touch but thought the inclusion of some form of iWork and iLife would make the iPad special. Somehow this would take it beyond a big iPod Touch. Funny how Apple basically has included most of iWork and iLife into the iPad 2 with iMovie and GarageBand now available. I was pissed at no multitasking at the launch but overall thought it was a great device. Thankfully I was not stupid enough to think it would fail. Really early on I wanted full blown OS X but finally realized that iOS would work great.

Anyways feel free to share what your post history says about your thoughts on the iPad if you were on MacRumours before it was launched.

I agree with the ranting that this is just a bigger iPod touch.

But it'll sell anyway. Then when developers show up to the new iPad store, 3 million units sold a quarter baby!! Cha-ching for Apple!

January 29th, 2010 (regarding lack of Flash on the demo)
All of you guys proclaiming "Flash is dead!!!! Long live HTML5" are just completely brainwashed by Apple. Wow. Probably 80 to 90% of the websites you go to have some sort of Flash content. I mean, of all the sites Steve chose, the first one he chose, guess what, had FLASH.

Some person in this thread said said, "I'd rather DOWNLOAD TORRENTS TO WATCH MOVIES INSTEAD OF GOING ON STUPID SITES LIKE HULU!" Yes, and I'd like to steal myself a MacBook Pro from the Apple Store too! Some great arguments.

Fine if the iPhone/iPod touch doesn't have it. A lot of other mobile platforms don't have it either. But when you're touting something as the BEST AND MOST MAGICAL WEB EXPERIENCE OF ANY DEVICE, at least in the current day and age, you need Flash.

Then of course,

I sold my Nexus One yesterday and then went to the local Apple Store and picked up an iPad. If you thought the Droid had a nice screen.. Just wait until you get your hands on an iPad. Whatever Apple uses to deciper touch, it's 100x better than what I had to deal with my Android phones.

Sigh.
