What is the app that you could not do without it?
What is the app that you recommend?

One, at most two!

For me:

There is no app on no phone that I must have.

If someone took away my phone I would turn to the 10+ computers I have available to me day and night and use those. I do not use my phone for apps, I use it for calls and text messages and some light web browsing when out.

I use my computers for apps.

Now if you're going to ask me what app on my computer…whatever browser I use on that computer to communicate with the world.

? Pretty crazy thing to have spent hundreds of dollars for a smartphone to then reject using apps!

When I say I'm not using it for apps, I mean exclusively for apps.

In other words, I'm not using it for games, or streaming video or movies or anything else that a lot of people use their phones instead of computers for. I'm not editing images, reading PDFs or doing page layout on my phone. The computer is much better for those things.

If I'm out and I need to make a call, send a text, take a picture, email someone or perhaps actually view a short video while I am waiting somewhere then I do use it for those things. I'm lazy, so it's also easier to use the phone to control the thermostat at home (through an app) so I don't have to get up. Little things like that. I also use older iPhones to stream music, which is less of a hassle than having iTunes open on my computer.

I just prefer games on computers, video and movies on a large (55") HDTV and a phone for calls/texts and so on.

If this is the case then I do not understand your previous post. This thread never asked for your favorite games. If you do in fact use apps on your phone as you now indicate, which are two of your favorites / most critical?

But that was my point. There are none that are favorites or most cricitcal.

Unless you want to count the Phone, Mail and Messages apps as such?

Then why do you own a smartphone if you don't wanna use any of the features that make it a smarphone? might as well just settle for this:

Yeah, I get that a lot.

It's because I want one. And it's useful when I'm out, such as appointments or away from home/work.

I'm not one of those people who only buy what I need. I buy what I want if I like it and if it happens to meet my needs (whatever those may be) then so much the better. There is no justifying a purchase based solely on need in my house.

That is not to say I'm rich - I'm not. I'll wait years for something I want if I have to, but I get what I want.

EDIT: Also, I didn't say I don't want to use the features of a smartphone. I said I didn't need to.

I understand and please don't take this the wrong way, like I wasn't trying to get at you I was just genuinely asking. Like you, I don't need to justify my purchases, I buy what's best at the time and I enjoy it which is why I bought the iPhone 11 Pro with 512GB of storage even though I don't even use half of that. Just in case you know...

By the way, with past smartphones, I used to turn off many things like location services, turn down the screen brightness, disable this and that just to save battery which also kind of like defies the point of why I got a smartphone but with the iPhone 11 Pro's insane battery, now I am able to have everything on and never once did I worry about battery, it lasts me 2 days easily with my heavy usage (I listen to Audio books and music all day long and that barely consumes anything)

My favorite used to be the Marvin ereader, but sadly it is no longer maintained and I moved to a lesser app. I guess now it would be Apollo or Tweetbot.

Most useful apps for me are Hindsight, 1Password, Kayak, and Google Maps.

Bought Streaks yesterday.

This is one of the silliest things I've ever read on this forum. I mean why post in a thread asking about your favorite apps so you can declare to the world that you don't use any?

To everyone else ... thanks for the suggestions. Gonna use some of these.

Reread my statements. Nowhere did I say I didn't use apps. You are putting words in my mouth that I did not say.

What I said was "There is no app on no phone that I must have." You in fact, just quoted me on that.

How you get from there to I don't use any apps at all is only something you can explain.
