UK Apple iUP user here using iPhone Apple Store App to reserve upgrade.

So I got onto the apple store at 8.07am after refreshing constantly starting at 8.00am. I went through the process, selected phone, my store (which said available 3rd Nov), a pick up time and then i got to the final reservation confirmation page that outlines the details of the reservation and has a "reserve" button at the bottom.

Upon clicking the button i get a pop up saying "Good News. The iPhoneX is available today". The model you have selected is ready to be picked up".

!!! Suffice to say i was shocked. Clicked OK on the pop up but i just stayed on the reservation confirmation page. Every time i clicked Reserve i got the same pop up!

After 5 mins i realized that something mush have gone wrong so i exited the app and tried again only to find the pick up date has slipped to 18th Nov. I called apple and after finally getting through i was advised that there was no record of my reservation :(

For them to do anything i had to go through and make a "successful" reservation to get a Web order number so my official date is 9th December now!". They are going to try and bring it forward and will get back to me next week.

I'm really upset with this because i have done everything i was supposed to, but due to the app glitch i now have to wait over a month for the phone! This is not only annoying but messes me up for future launch days (i have had every iPhone on launch day so far!)

I'm just curious if anyone else had this problem because i cant see it posted anywhere else! Also, does anyone have any advice? I was going to suggest that they just allocate me one of the "walk in" stock on the 3rd but is this reasonable or even possible in your experiences?

edit: spelling

I had exactly the same. Kept giving a random error when reserving a slot at a store for iup. Then gave me that. I just kept going, until it gave me a proper reservation (18th Nov). A shame, as I had a slot for next Fri...... but obviously the server load was very high. Oh well!

So just an update...

After being sent 'round the houses by Apple on the phone and receiving none of the call backs I was promised I went into the Apple Store in person.

After 30 seconds talking to the store manager, he said a few people had come in with the same issue and he manually added me to the iUP pre-order list and I'll be collecting my phone at 9am tomorrow morning!

Should have started with the store in the first place, great customer service!
