Hi all ~ thanks for looking.
I was interested in some opinions for my set up as I have been out of the amp/stereo scene for quite a while.
One of my current TV set ups includes:
- HDTV w/ 2 HDMI inputs
- Mac Mini (connected via s-video)
- PS3 (connected via HDMI)
- Apple TV (connected via HDMI)
- Klipsch ProMedia GMX Speakers connected to analog TV audio out (http://www.klipsch.com/promedia-gmx-a-2-1-computer-speaker-system)
I am interested in connecting the Mac via HDMI now that I am using it more for content, however, to do this, I would need to buy an HDMI switch or a stereo amp/receiver with HDMI.
I would prefer to get a nice HDMI capable stereo amp, but one challenge is that the Klipsch are powered computer speakers and I do not think they would be compatible with the audio out on most stereo amps. I am not sure if this is true.
I am not so interested in getting rid of the speakers if I don't have to.
What would you all do in my situation?
Get the HDMI switch?
Find a stereo amp/receiver that would allow me to keep my speakers (if they even make this)?
Thanks for any insight.
