Your Rev. A, OK?

Just curious about those with Rev. A models. Who is still using them as a primary machine and is it working as well (you might have had a bad first model, please share) as when you first acquired it?

Just after the X.4.6 update, I realized how nice my single 1.6 PM has been to me now for 2 years. My only gripe is the kinda loud fan.

Rev. A iBook G4 / 12" / 640MB / 40GB HD / AE / BT, since Dec. 2003. It's still great. Getting to feel a little slow...at some point, I think I might sell it and get a newer (used) iBook G4.

I have a rev. A MacBook Pro, and it is NOT okay.

I have several of the famous issues, including heat, buzz, screen alignment when closed, and screen buzz. But due to the recall, I'm going to send it back and get a new one. Hopefully the new one will be cooler and not have the buzz.

My only question is that my RAM slot (underneath) is dented. It's not very noticable at a glance unless you look at it closely or feel it, but I'm afraid if the Apple Genius sees it that he thinks I did it and I'd lose my AppleCare. It came like that. I probably won't mention it as they're replacing the MacBook Pros, but should I take it in at all? I mean, these problems are managable, but I don't want to lose my AppleCare.

I have a rev a, not only is this my first mac its also my primary machine. My only complaints are the heat and the buzzing noise. I bought a 2nd battery for long flights

When I jumped into trying out mac, I totally dove in. I am really hoping the powermac intels come out soon. When they do, I am gonna pick one up as my workstation. Then, I will be able to send the machine back to be repaired.

I have a Rev. A Dual 2 G5; it has its share of problems, but nothing too bad.

It doesn't like to go to sleep—it'll crash shortly after it's woken up.

It doesn't like to be shut down either—when starting up, it'll usually crash, requiring a hard reboot to work.

Other than that, it's a pretty good machine. One of my processors died a year and a half ago, and the repair providers thought that would fix the other problems; it didn't. Hopefully I'll be able to complain sometime this summer after school is out and get my machine fixed up before AppleCare expires.

Same. Mine has slightly different specs but it's a lil' soldier. I haven't had any issues with it. I think the original G4 iBook was one of Apple's better achievements.

I had the rev. a iMac G3, I don't have it anymore, but there were no problems at all. Happy camper here.
