I've heard of this before.

The owner's let people bid / donate (whatever you want to call it) on an item like a PS3, and then smash it however the highest bidder wants. I think it's mostly to make fanboys who really want something like that (rare PS3) cringe.

this shows you

as long as you have money, you can behave as stupid as you want

I personally think its hugely! hilarious. I just saw their PS3 version and its just sooo funny. There was a huge qeue outside and they smashed the thing in front of everybody (some had been qeueing for days). Some guy was almost in tears but oh well....

They did an iPod version in front of the Apple store (or was it inside it) and they were asked to leave but everyone was shocked yet amused.

Oh by the way, they dont have money....viewers raise the money for the products...usually.

I like it because there's a subtext for me that says "its still a piece of equipment people, stop worshipping it". This is especially true for the PS3, of which, some have resorted to animal behaviour in order to obtain one. Robbing people.....?

I don't understand how people get so upset over something like this. There's plenty to go around....I mean so what if you don't get your PS3 on launch, and you see a video of someone smashing one that you may have had, though unlikely. You'd probably still go out another day and get a hold of one, so its not as if your without it?...wow you got a ps3 at launch..so what?

I think it's just really stupid behaviour. There are some people who would love to have something like that, an iBook or MacBook (found one where they melt a MacBook on Google Vids the other night), and it's not quite sick, but it's just a misuse of what is a fantastic piece of kit.

Someone should send them an email, what do they think is better? Burning it because it's cool, or donating the device to some child who's parents don't have any money, and would love it to bits?

Sad, oh well, there's always gonna be wierdos like that...

its a piece of equipment?
sure
human's body is a piece of flesh, and rotten after death,
philosophy is easy to say, but nobody in this world is emotionless.
I don;t care how they get money, they do have the money, don't they?
stupid is stupid, trying to stand high and teach other people lesson is purely stupidity. coz they are, themselves, emotional at some other area, how about they crash what they love most? stupidity and hypocrisy.

I personally think it is retarded. How about donating the money they get to some charity or something . Jeez, people got so bored to the point of buying stuff just to smash it

lol i think its a good idea and very entertaining to watch! shows we shouldn't get so caught up about material things.
