Long story short I found out today that the YouTube iOS app continues to use my cellular data over a day after last use. How can this be? I thought that iOS apps can't do this if background refresh is off? I turned off cellular data for this app to put an end to this nonsense. I've seen other complaints online about this. Ugh. Check your settings!

Good idea. But surprised this could even happen. I thought that apps stop working in the background after 15 minutes unless background app refresh was selected. Not sure if this is a flaw in a badly written app or a flaw in iOS (I'm on 8.4). Anyway lesson learned.
