The other day I clicked and opened the youtube app on my iPad and was viewing a clip. So far so good, this was the first time I've used the app. After finishing watching the clip I clicked on the "Clear" button top left thinking that it would just get me out of youtube. Well as you can expect I guess, that cleared out all the youtube videos that were on there. The app is now empty and the videos that came with the iPad were gone, every single one of them. I was wondering (I doubt it) if I could get them back. I tried syncing with iTunes but that didn't do anything, the app was still empty. I don't suppose there is a way to get them videos back into the app, is there? It's not a critical issue for me, but was just wondering if there was a way to get them back into the youtube app. They are probably gone forever, but I thought I would ask in here anyway. Thanks for a reply..

Are you sure you didn't just clear your history in the youtube app? That's the only clear button i really can see.

And what videos are you talking about? I don't recall my iPad coming prepackaged with any Youtube video clips.

The only place there is a clear button is on the history page. So the videos you saw on there were ones you (or someone else) had watched on your iPad.

I don't think you can get your history back once it is cleared.

Not sure if you're just talking about your viewing history but youtube videos are not actually downloaded on your iPad.....they stream from the internet.

Maybe I didn't make myself clear enough. Those youtube videos were already pre-installed in my youtube app, and so I didn't put them in there. I did not see any history button, there was just the one button in the upper left corner that said "Clear"! Like I said I was watching a youtube video and when I was done I clicked on the Clear button thinking it would just get me out of the app. And yes there were a bunch of videos in that app when I got the iPad. I didn't put them in there.

You seem to not understand how YouTube itself works. Videos are not installed on your iPad, they are on the internet and stream to your device. Those videos you saw were probably featured videos from the site which change all the time.

After watching the video it likely brought you to your history tab which shows videos you've recently watched. Pressing that clear button just erases the list. The videos are still on youtube.

Hey it's the elusive creature!
