Anyone who received the picture-in-picture toggle in the YouTube app, did the feature suddenly disappear for you too?

I had it, now it’s gone. Wtf Google

Has anyone found a way to re trigger it?

Well at least I got the feature to loop videos in the app now. Which is great. They better not remove it again for me too 🙃

So much for the whole "We're going to slowly roll out this feature in waves over the course of July" BS statement.

Looks like this feature is going to be gone for good given that practically nobody has access to it yet on July 27th.

I don’t believe you - sorry Marzfreeider 🤷🏻😳
No need to apologize but it is working fine for me, even today (and has been working for a few weeks). I just checked again before I replied. Not sure why yours isn't. Hopefully it will sort itself out soon for ya.

  1. Visit YouTube.com/new while signed in to your Google Account
Make sure you’re a YouTube Premium subscriber (not just Music Premium)
  2. Find “Picture-in-picture on iOS”
It’s the second experiment on the page after “Translate comments”
  3. Click “Try it out”

  4. Start a video on YouTube for iPhone app
iPad does not support PiP right now
  5. Start Picture-in-Picture by close the app (Swipe up or home button)
    Video will continue playing

Say what?!?!

It works! Nice find!

Limited time, till Oct 31 but hopefully there’s a permanent solution by then.

Very nice … even without a switch in settings

Of course Google would hide this feature behind a pay wall ...

Doesn’t work for me but great find nonetheless. Audio keeps playing but no video PiP. Wonder if it’s because I’m on iOS 15 beta…?

I had PiP working for months with no issue until this evening. The new update version 16.37.3 killed it. I even went into Try new features and turned it on, still not working. If they don't give me PiP again soon I will be canceling my Premium subscription. Clearly it can and does work, not sure why they keep playing this game.

It's been disabled for me as well. Even on version 16.36.4.
