YouTube App: Why can't we send/reply to messages built into it?

Seriously, it's so annoying having to go to Safari everytime we want to send/reply to a message we received. Why don't we have this yet?

Is it Apple or YouTube(Google) holding it back?

It's Apple. All the Google branded included apps on the iPhone are made by Apple, and I'm lead to believe by someone I was talking to at Google that they have been unhappy with the rate of improvements to the iPhone applications for nearly two years.

Given the current relationship seems to be in the toilet, I don't expect it to get any better either. I mean, we're still missing the ability to search by most recent.
