Using YouTube app (with YouTube premium) on ipad Pro 11 (and 11 pro max)- Picture in Picture is not working

was working for a couple days a few weeks ago. Then stopped. Any ideas?

Google is clearly having problems with YouTube on iOS - besides this, there is lost 4K and external monitor support functionality.
