I am embarassed to admit I didn't know in Safari, there is a Desktop tab at the bottom of the YouTube homepage! I was disappointed in the YouTube app because I couldn't search videos by the current day, week month and because I also couldn't watch videos in standard resolution when HD videos buffer a bit. Now with the Desktop page enabled in Safari, I can search videos submitted today or this week and watch videos in standard res!

Lol, don't know why I never noticed this before but I've only had my iPad since launch day.

Just a tip for anyone who also didn't know :)

If you want HTML5 version you will have to enable it at

www.youtube.com/html5

Although I don't know if it works or not on the iPad as I have not tried it yet. Youtube app works fine for me the way it is.

I use both since I do love watching HD videos but when videos take awhile to load, I switch to the desktop version and watch videos in the browser. You do not have the search capabilities with the YouTube app, that you get with the Desktop version.
